Welcome Back Letter 2019

A message from INCLINE HIGH SCHOOL

Greetings Highlander Families:

Welcome to our new and returning students and families. We hope this letter finds you well rested and excited to get back to school. This year promises to be one of the best in Incline’s 50 year history. As the new year approaches, we have a lot of information to share.

REGISTRATION & COURSE SCHEDULE & FEES

Class schedules will be visible in Infinite Campus on Monday, August 19th.  We will also have hard copies for students to pick up here in the office.   In order to see the schedule, you must have completed online registration in Infinite Campus You can access through the district website, www.washoeschools.net

Students are expected to pay mandatory class fees (PE, music, ROTC, science, art, foods, industrial arts, foreign language, drama).  Payments can be made with the Bookkeeper in the front office, Cash or Check to Incline High School. ALL students will receive a laptop for the year and the laptop fee is $55.  There is also a parking permit fee of $2 for students who will be parking on campus, proof of driver’s license required.

STAFF UPDATES

Veteran Incline teacher and librarian Shelah Brown retired in June.  Whitney Foehl will be leaving the social studies department to become our new librarian.  We then used that allocation to hire Whitney Dumville for the math department.

Our counselor Patty Haddad also retired in June and we hired Jennifer Jango-Cohen to be our new lead counselor.  She will oversee 11th and 12th grade students.

We are thankful to the David and Cheryl Duffield Foundation for sponsoring a grant that allowed us to hire 4 additional staff members –  Neal Young (English & Foods), Brady Sambrano (Spanish & Social Studies), Peter Fairley (Science & Math), and Bethany Sheridan (9th & 10th grade counselor).

The counselors are not on site until Wednesday, August 14th.  Other certified staff report on the 20th

PARENT GROUPS – Please join our high school parent Boosters group.   We also have a parent group supporting K-12 Music Education, “CYMBAL”.
