All IHS departments and classrooms have access to funding from the Boosters every year. Most recently, the counseling department requested funds to purchase Scan Readers for IHS students who have 504 plans with accommodations for Dyslexia and ADHD. The devices use OCR and Text-to-Speech technology to allow students to more easily process and learn from written text.

 

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we purchased 4 Scan Readers. Counselor Sara Coombes reports the Scan Readers will be available for students to check out to help with homework and tests. These devices help remove the barriers to learning so students can become independent readers and provide full equity of access to any text printed or digital.
