November at its best - with a sort of delightful menace in the air - Anne Bosworth Greene, The Lone Winter

Rabbit rabbit!  November is upon us, with vermillion skies and a delightful menace in the air.  Grab your calendar – here’s Boo’s top picks for the coming month.  Remember to check the school’s Calendar of Events page for exact time and updates

BOOSTERS – Our monthly meeting takes place at noon on Wed Nov 13 in the IHS Theater; all parents are welcome to join us for updates and our monthly Q&A with our Principal Dr. Andrew Yoxsimer.  If you’d like to do some good and have some fun, join us at the IHS conference room this Monday Nov 4 at 10:30AM to help us plan the big community Crab Feed.

CULTURE – It’s not too late to buy tickets for the Highlander’s fall theater production, Into The Woods.   Seats are available for both Saturday and Sunday showings; purchase tickets from Ms Taves or at the door. More info here

SPORTS – With fall sports winding down and winter in the wings, our athletes will spend much of the month in conditioning and training.  We do have the final home football game of the season tonight; early kickoff @ 6PM.    On Tuesday Nov 19 join us at IV Coffee Lab for wine, food and painting – a very fun fundraiser for our track and field atheletes… details here.  And don’t miss the Fall Sports Awards on Wed Nov 20.

COLLEGE PREP– November presents a great opportunity for upperclasspersons to advance their career and college plans.  As usual our energetic IHS counselors Jennifer Jango-Cohen and Bethany Sheridan are ahead of the game.

JOBS – The Diamond Peak Job Fair this Sat Nov 2 from 9-12; they have a variety of student-friendly winter jobs with good training, competitive pay and perks.   And IHS his hiring qualified adults for roles including library assistant, clerical aide, education support and night custodian.  The pay is fair, the benefits are good and the commute is great!

FAMILY – Finally, Boo wishes you and yours a lovely Thanksgiving, full of family, love and… snow!
