This Week’s Highlights
Athletics
Homecoming Parade
- 1:25 students IN the parade will be released so they can make their way to the staging area of the parade.
- 1:45 all students will go to the parade to watch. They will leave with their Advisory (1st period) class.
- 2:30 students can stay and continue to watch the parade or they will be excused for the day.
Friday Homecoming Football Game
Saturday 9/23 7:30pm Homecoming Dance
- Time: Dance begins at 7:30 and ends at 9:30 PM in the IHS Small Gym.
- Theme: A Night in the Hollywood Hills
- Suggested Dress: Semi-formal
- Prices: Singles $15 / Couples $20

Community and Compassion
Our strength lies in our unity and our ability to look out for one another. I encourage all Highlanders to shine by embodying integrity, humanity, and scholarship. Let’s create a culture where everyone feels supported and valued.
Student Voice Committee
The Student Voice committee is actively engaging with all advisories to ensure every student’s ideas are valued and considered. Stay tuned for exciting developments. The committee meets every other Thursday at lunch in Ms. Cahill’s office.
Academic Support
We are adapting to provide the best support for our students, even with the discontinuation of ESSER funds for after-school tutoring. Now, we are offering targeted support during Advisory hours. Reach out to your child’s Advisor for more details.
No Phones/Ear Buds Policy
Thank you for supporting our policy to keep classrooms distraction-free. Together, we are fostering an environment conducive to learning.
Graduation – June 17 at 4pm
We have received approval to plan for an outdoor graduation. If you’d like to be on the 2024 graduation committee please reach out to Ms. Cahill, tcahill@washoeschools.net
