GRADUATION / CLASS OF 2020
IHS Administration was hoping to hold a socially distanced ceremony with limited attendance on Thursday, June 18th, but new guidance states that we can NOT plan for any in -person ceremony or celebration prior to July 3rd. The best way to stay COVID-current on graduation planning is to attend the next Graduation Planning Meeting on Monday, May 25, 2020 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm via Google Meet at meet.google.com…a-ospv-tsm , or join by phone at +1 813-815-3313 (PIN: 253122863). Here’s the updated event list:
- Wed, 5/27 – Delivery of Cap/Gowns/Medals/Yard Signs to Houses (route & timeline to follow)
- Wed, 6/10, 4pm – SENIOR FAREWELL PARADE– Route throughout Incline (not on highway 28) neighborhoods for other students, families, community members to view. 1 student per car driven by a parent if possible. Start / End at Incline HS. (more details to follow)
- Wed, 6/17, 5:30pm – SCHOLARSHIP NIGHT, Zoom Invitations to follow for the seniors who submitted scholarship applications in February.
- Thurs, 6/18 – INCLINE HS GRAD SPEECH BROADCAST 4pm KOLO & 7:30pm CW – Main Speeches & Senior Slide Show (WCSD initiative)
- Tues, 7/7, 6pm – (TENTATIVE) GRADUATION CEREMONY, Football Field. *2 guests per graduate or immediate family, date subject to change based on state guidelines and potential spike in confirmed cases

BOOSTERS UPDATES
BOOSTERS MEETINGS 5/27 & 6/10 – If you missed our last “Talks with Yox” online Boosters meeting, find the recording here; the chat transcript below serves as a simple table of contents. Our next meeting takes place on Wednesday May 27 at 5:30PM with a special guest –

HIGH SCHOOL MUSIC COMPETITION – ONLINE 6/3 – Zoom to an EXCITING virtual music competition on June 3rd 4pm! Judged by a panel of professionals, this is a must hear event. Contact Denise Menzies (burradoo@aol.com) for an application form and details.

THEATER UPDATE – Theater remodel progress includes hazmat abatement; completion of rough construction including stage expansion, dressing room remodel, ceiling and sheetrock finishing; and all the mechanical and electrical work. Next tasks include painting and finish flooring, then we take delivery of theater seating, stage lighting, house lighting pendants, suspended acoustical ceiling, sound panels, and AV projector and screen video system which were delayed due to COVID-19. You can help by purchasing a seat dedication!

NAVIGATING REMOTE LEARNING: A Webinar for Incline ES, MS, and HS Families – Join us Thursday 5/28 5:30PM for a 45-minute webinar to explore practical tips and guidelines for what families can do to best support student well-being and engagement with learning right now. ONLINE IHS REGISTRATION for 2020-21 – Online Registration is now open for the 20 – 21 school year. Parents must complete the Online Registration for their students each year. Login to Infinite Campus using your parent portal. The link can be found on the left side towards the bottom of the screen. PANDEMIC PHILANTHROPY
We are entering a challenging season of great need. If you are fortunate enough to have time or resources to contribute, here are some easy ways to benefit our students, IHS and this wonderful community:

- Contribute to our Technology Fund-a-Need.IHS is fortunate to have 1-to-1 computing resources and “digital day” programming in place to support remote teaching during this COVID-19 outbreak. We need new laptops to replace obsolete teacher desktops and to supply a very large incoming Freshman class. We also seek funds for investments in modern smart boards, teaching tools, and a projector and screen for the theater currently under renovation, and more. You can contribute to our Technology Fund-a-Need here – Thank you for your support!
- HUNGER RELIEF – Incline Serves has teamed up with the NLT Boys & Girls Club and the Incline Rotary Foundation to help both our local restaurants and those in need of hunger relief.
- Feed our Hospital Heroes.The Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline is coordinating an effort to “Feed our Heroes” at Incline Village Community Hospital. They seek weekly donations of meals, desserts and/or drinks for the staff of 20. Details and signups here.
- Embrace Incline – A community wide COVID-19 resource guide to promote local businesses and nonprofits at embraceincline.com.
