IHS Parents & supporters – we hope this update finds you healthy and hunkered down with loved ones.  Here’s Boo’s News and updates to keep you current and social, if distant:

BOOSTERS VIRTUAL MEETING – ONLINE WITH DR. YOX  – IHS Principal Dr. Andrew Yoxsimer headlines our monthly Boosters meeting this Wednesday 5:30PM via videoconference.  Dr. Yox will provide an update and field your questions regarding IHS-COVID-19 issues, online classes, testing, grades, 2020-21 registration, etc.

To ensure security and privacy we use Google Hangouts Meet, which can be accessed via web browsers, though phone users may wish to download and setup the app in advance.  You can submit your questions in advance or during the meeting using the “chat” feature.  To receive an invite you must be on the Boosters’ Email list, or request a meeting invite here.

2020-21 IHS REGISTRATION – Make sure you’ve registered your kids for school next year!  Each year parents/guardians must register their student for the upcoming year – use this link: 2020-2021 Registration.  Contact Diane Bolton or Silvia Ambriz at 832-4260 if you have any questions.

COWBOY CRAB FEEDBACK & SUMMER PARTIES – The Cowboy Crab Feed was a huge success, and fortunately we snuck it in before the shut-down.  If you attended, we’d appreciate your feedback via a 10-question survey here.  If you missed the fun there’s still time to sign up for rescheduled parties & events, including Garden to Glass at Tunnel Creek Lodge, a Rolls Royce champagne & cigar soiree, Driver’s Edge/Need2Speed Pro driver training and racing for teens, Movie Night, private tour of remodeled Alibi Brewery and Karaoke night at Gus’s.  Full descriptions here, contact the crab feed committee for details.

IHS CLIMATE SURVEY – WCSD’s annual Family Climate Survey is open thru May 8; this is a great way to ensure the District hears your voice and heeds Incline’s needs.  It takes about 10 minutes to complete – click here.

GIVING BACK – We are entering a challenging season of great need.  If you are fortunate enough to have time or resources to contribute, here are three easy ways to benefit our students, IHS and this wonderful community:

  1. Join the Boosters; serve on our Board.  More now than ever, IHS students and staff need your support.  Join boosters today, and if you have a little extra time and energy, consider joining our Board for the 2020-21 academic year – simply reply or inquire here

  2. Feed our Hospital Heroes. The Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline is coordinating an effort to “Feed our Heroes” at Incline Village Community Hospital.  They seek weekly donations of meals, desserts and/or drinks for the staff of 20.  Details and signups here.

  3. Contribute to our Technology Fund-a-Need. IHS is fortunate to have 1-to-1 computing resources and “digital day” programming in place to support remote teaching during this COVID-19 outbreak.  We need new laptops to replace obsolete teacher desktops and to supply a very large incoming Freshman class.  We also seek funds for investments in modern smart boards, teaching tools, and a projector and screen for the theater currently under renovation, and more. You can contribute to our Technology Fund-a-Need here – Thank you for your support!
