On Wednesday August 21 the Boosters Board and Members held meetings.

Board Meeting

Boosters Board meetings generally begin with updates on existing business. Our new Treasurer Kevin Reeth presented financials and previewed a plan to operationalize financial tracking. Denise Menzies provided a Beautification Project update, and Theater Project chair Joy Strotz provided her respective update. Tom Millhoff described this new website’s functionality, including on-line membership sign-up and payment, and Boosters Facebook updates. Alma provided an update on Concessions – do reach out to her if you can help. Hospitality chair Holly Racich has New Student Welcome plans in place, and is looking for volunteers 8AM-2PM first day of school – do contact her if you can help. Tom will run point on Back to School Night. Tricia Tong is in communication with potential Crab Feed Chairpersons. Mary Danahey provided an update on the College Fair.

New Business discussions included funding Boys Soccer jerseys, Chevron Boosters community sign management, a planned October 16 screening of Screenagers at IHS and a potential public showing on Oct 21.

Members Meeting

Members Meetings are a great way to engage with IHS leadership and stay on top of school happenings.  This month we met our two new counselors Jennifer Jango-Cohen and Bethany Sheridan, both are young, engaging, energetic and highly trained… we’ll profile them and other new staff in future posts.  In the mean time, encourage your students to stop in and welcome them to our Village.  Thanks Jennifer and Bethany for bringing coffee and snacks!  Our Principal Andrew Yoxsimer  closed the meeting out with an update on school plans and affairs.
