This Week’s Highlights

• Monday, 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony: At the start of the week, our JROTC Battalion will lead a 9-11 ceremony during Advisory. Let’s come together as a community to honor the memory of those we lost on that day.

• Wednesday, Senior Night: Families with seniors, please join us at 5:30 PM in the Duffield Theater for an informative session about college counseling, community scholarships, and more.

• Monday, 9/18 Class Add/Drop Deadline: Mark your calendars, as the 20th day of school falls on Monday, September 18th. It’s also the last day to add or drop a class. Please consider any necessary schedule adjustments and consult with your counselor before this crucial deadline.

Community and Compassion
Our strength lies in our unity and our ability to look out for one another. I encourage all Highlanders to shine by embodying integrity, humanity, and scholarship. Let’s create a culture where everyone feels supported and valued.

Student Voice Committee
The Student Voice committee is actively engaging with all advisories to ensure every student’s ideas are valued and considered. Stay tuned for exciting developments. The committee meets every other Thursday at lunch in Ms. Cahill’s office.

Academic Support
We are adapting to provide the best support for our students, even with the discontinuation of ESSER funds for after-school tutoring. Now, we are offering targeted support during Advisory hours. Reach out to your child’s Advisor for more details.

No Phones/Ear Buds Policy
Thank you for supporting our policy to keep classrooms distraction-free. Together, we are fostering an environment conducive to learning.

Graduation – June 17 at 4pm
We have received approval to plan for an outdoor graduation. If you’d like to be on the 2024 graduation committee please reach out to Ms. Cahill, tcahill@washoeschools.net

Nevada Department of Education Star Rating
Please note that attendance will be a crucial factor in our star rating this year. Let’s work together to minimize absences and keep our rating high.
